We're so happy to announce the new arrival to the Doug & Jodie Palmer family--Jack Alma Palmer!
A beautiful home birth gently welcomed Jack into our arms Saturday night, March 15, at 10:42 p.m. He weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz, with 20 1/2 inches of head and feet and all the right stuff in between.
He came 4 days early while Jodie was battling a vicious case of the flu, which must have migrated somewhere from the Amazon Jungle of Death. With Kleenex STILL in hand, she lifts up her fist and say's, "The power of woman! ArrArrArrArr!"
Jodie contracted for a week before Jack decided that he couldn't wait for his mother to get better. He had things to do and wanted to get the show on the road! We expect that this will be a wonderful part of his personality.
As a dad, it is an amazing experience for me to watch the birth of my children, but to be able to participate hands on throughout the whole process is unbelievable.
As you can see in the pictures Maggie is very happy to have "her baby." She will be a wonderful big sister, although from the size of Jack's hands she won't be the "big" one for too much longer.
With reverence and gratitude, thanks to each of you who have taken care of our sick family, helped us prepare for Jack's arrival, and the midwives who did such a fabulous job.
Jodie and I just look at each other in wonder, point at Jack and whisper, "Hey, we made him! How cool!"
